Hi! I just came back from 2 weeks in New Zealand. It is so spectacularly beautiful there! We did a tour around the South Island. We started in Wellington, then crossed to the south island via the ferry (sooo should have mentioned I get sea sick) - then to Christchurch, down to Queenstown, a overnight cruise in Milford Sound (omg gorgeous!!) then back to Christchurch. Here's my favourite photo (looks photoshopped but its 100% real! we are on the Fox Glacier (freezing our tails off at minus 10 degrees!) but it was so awesome up there we didn't care)

I know I've been quiet lately, but I am back!

A Friend In Need

We all have those times in our lives when we realise we've grown apart of certain friends and realise that sometimes it doesn't mean they aren't good people, you're just different people. It happened to me when I started work and my friends went to Uni. They changed, I changed and we just didn't have anything in common any more. It hurt, especially because my two other friends still made time for each other and were getting along better than ever. I'd been best friends with these girls all through high school and it took a lot for me to realise we just weren't as good as friends as we use to be.

One of my best friends now, Karina, is having a similar problem with her friends from high school. She's been trying for some time to 're-connect' but it just isn't working. So today's post goes out to Karrie to tell her its okay, that people change and it doesn't mean they aren't "good" or "interesting" anymore, it just means they're different and they look for different things in the people they spend their time with.

Enough of my Dr Phil/Oprah chat. ;)

"Australia's Not Ready To See It"

A spokesperson spoke of Maryville, Victoria. The town was blocked off from locals and press, because "Australia's not ready to see it". Bodies of victims trying to out-run fires lined the streets, burnt out cars that had been in accidents in their deseperate attempt to escape still on the roads.

It's been a time that no Australian will ever forget. 181 people dead and more are found each day. They are expecting that at least 300 people will be found in the remains.

One CFS volunteer spoke with tears in his eyes, "They call us to help, and there was nothing we could do. Nothing we could do."

Australia is no stranger to bush fires, we face them every year, each summer. But this was not a normal bush fire, it was an inferno. And the most horrifying thought of all was that some of these fires were deliberately lit. Someone set out to destroy homes and whether or not they knew (or cared) stole family members. Children, men, women, elderly people who were fighting to save their homes, gone.

I can't tell you all the stories we've seen in the papers. A mother who lost her two young children and her brother. The sisters who tried to save their horse and died. Parents and their disabled son killed when flames ingulfed their car while trying to escape. A family of three found burnt to death in their bath tab. They say they might have thought the water in the tub would save them, but instead boil in the intense heat. A firefighter whos family were killed in their home while he was out trying to stop it. Simply retelling these stories is hard enough. Imagine being there. Losing your family, your home, in some cases your whole town completely wiped off the map. One town had a bridge connecting it, the bridge burnt and the town was trapped.

I can't ask you to give money or donate, but I can ask you to keep these people in your prayers and thoughts. Australia is in mourning and we need your support more than ever.

It wouldn't be right if I didn't mention the horrible floods that Queensland are going through. Its a terrible twist of fate, one state is burning while another floods. A five year old boy was taking by a 5 metre croc while his 7 year old brother watched in terror. His father jumped in after him but they didn't find the boys body.

REMEMBERING THE FIRE

I was 15 when my family and I were trapped in a fire down the South Coast of Sydney. The bush fire jumped the highway and trapped us in the town. The panic in town was rampant. Everyone flocked to the supermarkets because no one knew when their next supply drop would be. We were cut off from food, water and fuel was cut off. Electricity went shortly after. We were in our holiday park when the fire came so close we could see the flames over the hill behind the park. The air was thick with smoke. Trees were exploded (eucalyptus trees are highly flammable and explode in fires), it was windy and people were running everywhere looking for their families. We knew we were in trouble when police came through the park and told us to evacuate or be arrested. Trouble was, the evacuation site was across the canel, the joining road, on fire. God was with us, people who were perfect strangers to us offered us a spot in their boat, the only place we could be safe.

We sat in boats in the river watching the fire come up over the hill. Crop dusters were flying over top dropping water on the flames. The sky was blood red with black smoke making it hard to see. We were choking on the smoke, it was burning our eyes and we sat on the river, waiting to see our second home go up in flames. Within two hours, the wind had changed and we came back to shore. The net day we drove home and saw the devastation.

And that was nothing compared to whats happening in Victoria.

Hi all!! Seeing as I didn't have the net for nearly two months (*shame*), I figure in Graphic Jam Time it is still November, so here is my Christmas freebie! I can't believe it but as I load this freebie and add the preview and everything I actually have to remember what to do! Wow, how quickly we forget things! But don't worry, in the next few weeks I'll have plenntttty of practice ;o)

I'm Not Dead!

After being offline for nearly TWO MONTHS! I am finally connected again.

I've missed all of you so much and because I expected to be online by Christmas I made up some Christmas freebies, so 1000 apologies for the delay and I will be posting them (and a few other fab freebies) in the next few days.

Believing Is Seeing (The Freebie)

My grandfather would sit on the front veranda with me when I was six and counted how many times I could jump up and down on the pogo-stick. I got to 120. I remember being so excited and so thrilled with myself.
Now I look back and realise how unbelievingly boring it would have been for him to sit there and count (out loud i might add!) every jump of that pogo. Yet he did it, and he always had a smile on his face. My grandparents always encouraged me and told I could do whatever I wanted to do. They were proud of me no matter what my choices and even sat though an entire "concert" performed solely by yours truly (and I have to say, I am in no way musically inclined).

Up until I was about 10, I absolutely loved fairies. EVERYTHING was fairy orientated. I still have most of my fairy things as I can never go to throw them away or give them away because everything I hold them I think of my how much they meant to me at the time and I don't have the heart to go through with it. Someday I will pass them onto my daughter.

My grandparents let me have a strip of garden that ran down the side of the house. It was my fairy garden. We planted flowers that fairies would come to and even got out hands on "Fairy Lights" - plants where fairies live! And I thank them everyday for the love they gave me and the childlike dreams and hopes they encouraged and let me enjoy.

So today's freebie is dedicated to my grandparents (whom passed away when I was a teenager), just want show them I understand you don't have to be a child to still be able to believe in magic.

Note: The fairies are small and semi-transparent. They are blurred to appear as those they are darting (in the way only fairies can do! lol) - they were created at 300ppi. Fairies come shadowed and unshadowed.

PLUS we got to see Hamish and Andy, Brian McFadden, Human Nature, Rove and heaps and heaps of other cool artists. We had a ball!!

Hi everyone!! I was so surprised (in a good way!) when I got a note in blog reader notifying me of a new post on Tracy Ann's blog.
She has very generously dropped her prices by 30% to accommodate for the recent dip (dive!) in the market. In Australia alone our dollar is only worth 65c US. So when we buy things from our fav overseas stores we pay nearly twice the amount for products. How generous is it of Tracy to put her prices down by 30% (!!!) to accomodate this. Its so nice and considerate of her.

Ladies and gentlemen, I proudly announce the new and improved Graphic Jam aka Graphic Jam by Yasmin (yay! hehe). I have been designing for 9 months now (I can't believe I forgot my 6 month anniversary!) and I like to think I've learnt HEAPS, especially recently so I decided it was time for an update.To celebrate, here is a freebie. I had so much fun coming up with examples for these little beauties. I picture them more for use on photos but obviously can easily be adapted onto a scrapbook layout. They come with 8 transparent edge sticker bubbles and 8 plain bubbles.

19 Days Later...

Time goes way too fast! Its terribly unfair when you are holidays and before you realise it you are getting ready to go back to work tomorrow. Yep, thats me. I go back to work tomorrow and while part of me is very excited to go back to see my awesome friends, the most part of me doesn't want to go back. (Which of course is natural I suppose) ;o) So, in my last attempt to recapture my holidays, I'm going to fill you in on what I've been doing.

Melbourne
As you may have seen from my previous posts, I spent almost a week in Melbourne with my cousin Pauline. She showed me the sites and we did some serious shopping. I got to hang out with her kids (awww so cute) and just relax. It was fantastic. The flight there...not so fantastic (at the time I'd only been on two short flights in my whole 22 years) so I don't exactly "fly well" haha. But the flight back was fine! Thank heavens ha ha.

Sydney
I spent a total of 3 days in Sydney, hanging out with my dad and doing some designs for my deviant art site (here).

Port Stephens
Then, the folks and I set out on a road trip to Port Stephens (for my international visitors, Port Stephens is a beautiful place on the beach about 2 and a half hours drive from Sydney. Just passed Newcastle.) We spent two nights up there, relaxing and chilling.

Back In Sydney
I've spent the last three days of my holidays at home in Sydney. And I have to admit, I've watched a LOT of TV and I dont regret a second of it. I got to catch up on all my favourite TV shows! Supernatural - (LOVE), I mean who could not love a show with the two hottest guys in the world in it! Ok, personally I love Dean but Sam is an extremely close 2nd. ;) THEN My Wife and Kids - LOL hilarous. But, the "blast from the past" was...
JERRY SPRINGER!
I love this show! ha ha, its so ridiculous and such trailor trash that I love watching it just to see what they will come up with next. Dam, I laughed so hard. And you just know its all set up because when they are fighting theres always one of them whose laughing, then becomes very serious when they realise the camera is on them. haha.

Anyway, so that was my holiday. Now I have to go do my hair and pick out my outfit for tomorrow in the office. No more pony tails and pjs *sob*

I'm a back in Sydney now, had a fantastic time with my cousin Pauline (and her partner and their two kids) in Melbourne. Melbourne is a truly beautiful city, it has such a lovely charm about it. Everything is federation and the streets are lined with trees and its just so quaint. Relocating? Can't say I'm not tempted!

As for today's freebie, they are cute little butterflies that have glitter trails following after them. There's three in the pack and I'd love to see anything you use them (or any of my other freebies!) for.

With stress at work coming to the ultimate climax I decided I needed a break. So, until 4 September I am a free woman. woo hoo! I also decided I needed a change (I'm a big fan of making superficial changes to make myself feel better ha ha) So I'm now a blonde and I got my third earrings pierced (deciding it was better than tattoo or nose ring ;o) - plus mum is happier with it ha ha)

Hey guys!! I hope everyone is well =)

Its raining down here in Sydney at the moment, Sunday was absolutely freezing!! It doesn't snow in the city but it felt like it was!

Sarah is back from New York and her, Karina and I are going out to dinner tonight to hear all about her two week trip to the Big Apple - so exciting!

I'm going to warn you I'm going to be quite for the next few weeks, I'm working on a new project (yes I like to keep busy!) I've starting writing again. I started when I was in high school and have three books under my belt (not published, just as a hobby). So now I'm working on a chic lit book which I hope to have published. Self-published at first then see where I go from there. I love writing. It gives me such an outlet. I said to Karina the other day that in my books, I felt like God because I could make these characters do what I want (It's very liberating!) hehe.
I'll hopefully get to post some freebies but most I'm "Out of the office"! hehe.

Bruises & Bunnies!

haha, if you like hearing about people making a fool of themselves your are going to LOVE this entry. Last week in Sydney it was pouring down rain, Brisbane has been having some shocking weather, and its blown down here (not as bad thank God) but last Monday it was cold, wet and windy down here. I went out for lunch as usual, walking into the entrance of a shopping centre across the street, skid and feel on my butt in front of about 100 people. It hurt, alot! I remember hitting the ground and everyone turning around and staring (eck!) Then as i scrambled to get up, two guys came up to me and said "Are you okay? I can't tell you how many people have fallen there today! Are you hurt?" and me, dying of embarassment, trying to limp away and as always (!!!) trying to make a joke say "Only my pride! ha ha!" then walked away, head down, face red ;o( and it bruised! Yes, I'm a sook but its left a big yellow bruise on my knee *sob*

A few nights ago my neighbour up the street, Darrin came up to our place holding a little bunny!! It was wet from the rain and had obviously escaped from somewhere. He went door to door and found the owners, who live across the street (i live on a main road and its a pure miracle it survived the hop over here to begin with). Then today as my mum, dad, my brother, Christian and me were pulling up in our driveway my dad spotted a bunny sitting in the front yard of our neighbours house!! Me, being a soft touch but a chicken, wanted to grab it cuddle it and keep it safe but I'm not the biggest fan of furry little things with beady eyes so my dad (who was suppose to take the lead and be a man!) phoned Darrin (haha). Darrin came up and we tried to corner it but it ran (dam fast too!!) so theres the three of us, trying to trap and capture a little bunny in the wet. All running, all trying to grab it. It escaped (ok honestly, it outsmarted us about a million times haha, especially me because the first time it ran towards me i expected it to be scared of me and run the other way but that plan backfired, i freaked out and couldn't grab it ha ha) and it got away. It ran under our neighbours house.

So I hope he stays there until someone can carry the lil guy home. But if anyone has any ideas how you entice a bunny to come to you please let me know!!! I discovered pretending grass was food and being all sweet does not work, while Darrin proved yelling out recipes involving rabbits, also does not work. ;o)

Where Are They Now?

Wow what a week - I am exhausted!! Monday night is the only night this week I've been home at normal time. Tuesday I went to a lil information session for a part time job I want (yes, another one hehe) then Wednesday I went to beautician to get my nails done and eye lashes tinted (a girls gota have some relaxation!) Then Thursday I went late night shopping and got 40% off at my favourite clothes shop (hehe) and then Friday night we had Friday Night Drinks at work, the theme was Trivia Night and we had it at a RSL up the road, it was hilarous!! Had a great time.

Snowed Under? No! Surfed Under!

I'm happy today (now at least hehe) guys and girls, Ive been working a commission for about a month now and now it is all done and finished. =) It was something I haven't done before so I got a chance to stretch my skills a bit. VERY VERY frustrating at times but in the same token it was very rewarding.

One of the Partners where i work, Will, (whom i mentioned in a lift ride one day when asked what I was doing the weekend, i said "just working on my sorta graphic website" just in passing!) came up to me and said "Hey Yazzi (continually *thanking* Raquel for starting that nick name) do you still do all that graphic design stuff?" and I said "yeah!!" then he asked me if I could design a logo for him and his mates to put on a shirt for when they go on their surf road trip! "I'll pay you of course, I don't want a freebie!" - how nice is that. Even though he is a partner and essentially my supreme boss, he wanted it to be seperate thing from work (which i LOVE).

So anyway, that's what I've been working on for the last few weeks. Here are a few photos of the final designs on the shirts and everything. he he.

But the best bit was after I'd finished and I told Will how much I thought it would be, and he said "WHAT?" I instantly panicked. I have no idea how much these things normally cost so I have no idea how to charge for them! Then he scratches out what I'd written and writes a new amount - nearly triple what I wrote!! and he said "Don't sell yourself short!" How nice is that! I don't know if its because I haven't really been having a good time at work lately or not but these few small words made my day (of course not the money side, I just love doing the work itself) but it was the fact that he was acknowledging my time and effort and it felt great!

Hey everyone! It was one of my best friends 21st birthday yesterday!

This is her last night, doesn't she look happy, she looked so pretty too! Then thats Sarah and me. (Sarah got a new haircut the other day and it looks amazing - don't you reckon she looks like Liv Tyler!)

Karina had her party last night, it was amazing! First, we all met at Karina's house (there was about 7 of us) where there were arcade games set up - oh my - so much fun!! I love the cars, I don't have my licence so I love thrashing it out on the toy cars he he.

THEN we got picked up in a white stretch limo (oh yeah!) with a really funky light roof, the trip into the city was filled in with champagne and hilarous conversation (as well as waving to people who were staring into the limo wondering who was inside (as I always do!))

We arrived at King Street Wharf at a really cool restuarant called "Malaya", which was like an asian restuarant with the BEST food. The view over Darling Harbour was great and we had a blast. Thanks for a very memorable night Karrie.

As I mentioned in my last post, me and my other best friend Sarah, decided to add a little personal touch to Karina's present, this is where the paint splats came into it.

Paint Splats Are Easy You Say? (& A Freebie)

Well, whoever said making paint splats is easy was incredibly wrong. Me and my friend Sarah spent four hours today splating paint over a canvas and boy was it hard. Fun, but hard. We had it narrowed down to a science which factored in gravity, thrust and stance. Can't go into too much detail right now but lets just say there was alot of splatters, sprays and alot of laughter. Photos to come.

So, in honour of our fun today, I'm doing a paint splat freebie! Actually I set out to make paint splats but fate intervened. I applied the wrong style which made my splat look like nuclear waste - and I liked it! So here it is, my toxic waste splats.

We Will Remember Them

Today is a very very special day here in Australia and New Zealand. Today is ANZAC Day. For my international friends:

"ANZAC was the name given to the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps soldiers who landed on the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey early on the morning of 25 April 1915 during the First World War (1914-1918).

As a result, one day in the year has involved the whole of Australia in solemn ceremonies of remembrance, gratitude and national pride for all our men and women who have fought and died in all wars. That day is ANZAC Day - 25 April."

I feel very passionately about respecting ANZAC D ay as a day of remembrance and not just as, as I was disgusted to hear "A Day Off Work". We often forget that while we considering anyone under the age of 18, child as young as 14 were sent off to fight for their countries. Many, didn't return. My older brother joined the army when he was 16. At the time I thought that was OK, he seemed so much older than me that I didn't give it a second thought. Then when I turned 16 I realised how incredibly young that is. They are still in many ways children.

I'm watching the ANZAC Day march on television, all the different generations marching together and showing their gratitude for all the lives lost so that we have live in peace. Its incredibly moving. My fathers dad (my grandfather who I never had the opportunity to meet) served in t he War. He has medals to show for it but was never able to march alongside his fellow soldiers in the March. My brother marched for him one day, in his full army uniform wearing his medals proudly.

So, today, on this day that is close t o this countries heart, I will leave you with this immortal verse.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

The Black Is Back!

So, daylight savings is over in Sydney. Which means I now get to walk home in the dark. I catch the train for 40 minutes (in the dark) then walk 20 minutes, again, in the dark. Except today, I got to walk home in the cold, wet, wind AND the dark. Though I shouldn't complain - at least I am lucky enough to have a job to go to and shelter to come home too!

What A Week - My First Commission!

Hey everyone! I've been so super busy lately. I completed by very first commissioned piece! It was for a good friend of mine, Alison. It was her partner, Pauls, mothers birthday (which is actually tomorrow so happy birthdays Mrs Cellar!) Alison (who is so sweet) commissioned me to do a layout for Pauls mum of some photos of the family.

Trouble is, I'm a (tiny) bit of a perfectionist when it comes to doing things for people so I was up til about midnight most nights trying to come up with new and better ideas. It was quite hard because as I scrapbooker I am use to working with a few photos (three at the most) but now I was working with upwards of twenty photos. I eventually settled on what I considered to be a simple design.

Using my favourite designer, Flergs, Beyond Borders product. Check out her amazing designs here.

I liked this one because the lovely yet uncomplicated border let the pictures shine through and didn't take anything anyway from them. The perfect team.

So here it is... [it will be/was presented to her with a wooden moulded frame, or as the art expert called it the frame with "the lines" ;) ]

Light @ The End Of The Tunnel

wow, what a trying week. Things at work have definetely been better, there were tears, anger, then chocolate. My friends have been spectacular. I realised that even though I have amazing friends, I've never mentioned them here. So today, I'm going to do some introductions. These are the main friends in my life, and if you aren't mentioned here doesn't mean i don't totally totally love you. =)

Firstly theres Sarah. Sarah Williams for the record. We went to high school together (though we weren't friends then), then to business college together, NOW we work together. Its been great to have a friend there to start work with and tackle all those initial nerves and problems with, I honestly do not know how I would have survived without her. I'd probably be very bitter and rude, because I wouldn't have had her to laugh things off with on the train ride home from work.

Then there's Karina, Karina Gennaoui. We haven't really been friends that long (less than a year!) but its 100% creepy how similar we are. And not in the things we like, in that respect we are completely opposites, but in our thought processors, we are so exactly the same. So whenever something happens we know that the other person is thinking the EXACT same thing, no matter how small or seemingly unsignificant.

Then there's Alison Williamson. She's like my big sister. Always lovely, sweet and caring. I can go to her about ANYTHING and not feel like a total waste of space. =)

Raquel Fitzgerald, a secretary who sits in my corner at work. Without her in the corner I think I might have quit a long time ago. We are, as we like to describe ourselves, the only normal ones. ;) (Never thought I'd be able to laugh so much at work, talking about work!)

Dee Chillari, ha, you just have to know her. Without a doubt the funniest girl alive. I could be on the verge of a breakdown and I'd walk away from a conversation with her with a smile on my face.

So, this is the first round of friends. When I have crap weeks like this, I must remember to look at this blog entry and realise that I'm lucky to have these girls. So thanks heaps to each of you for putting up with me and listening to me whinge, my PMS, and most importantly, for being you. =) (*Insert tender-heart felt sigh here*) ha.

Do you ever find yourself reading a book that you cannot put down?! I find myself in that situation right now. While I was sick my friend Carolyn (this is my first shout-out - Hey Carolyn, Darrin, Erica (the worlds cutest 7 year old) and Rhys (the worlds cutest 4 year old)!) gave me a book to read, "The Undomestic Goddess" by Sophie Kinsella and I couldn't put it down, it was so light-hearted and cheerful, I just loved it. Then I was out shopping the other day and noticed she had a new book out, called "Remember Me?", I bought it to read on the train (as I have a 40 minute train trip into the city and 40 minutes back). I thought it would fill up the boredom (an iPod can only entertain someone so much). And three days later I'm nearly finished! I just love it, I really want to know how it ends! I'm a sucker for happy endings so I really NEED to know how it turns out. I like reading on the train so I have to use all my strength not to pick it up and finish it right now ;/ - so to distract myself I whipped up a funky new freebie for you guys.

I'm so excited right now because today I won my very first Challenge! I've never entered one before but I won!
It was the February challenge at DigiScrapDepot (which has thousands and thousands of FREEBIES). It was a Mix N' Match theme, and you had to use three different kits to make the layout. This is mine...

I decided to use a certain theme (flowers) then mix and match hehe.

Easter Already?! (& A Freebie!)

Can anyone believe that its nearly EASTER already? Its Autumn down here in Oz, so next thing you know it will be winter, then all the Spring Fairs and before you know it I'll be saying "it feels like only yesterday that I was saying Easter has come around so fast, now its Christmas!"

The showbags have just been released so theres the excitement as kids flick through page after page of showbags, trying to decide between the Bratz or Barbie (or Transformers and Harry Potter) bags. I miss being a kid, I always use to write out a budget so I could make sure that every dollar was spent on something I wanted and not just wasted away (and yes, I was a nerd - ha ha, maybe I missed my calling to be an accountant or something ;) .

Anyway, here is my freebie for today. Its a wordart "Too Cute For Words" and comes in a few different styles. One in silver, like a charm, one boy and one girl, a plain black quote and a plain back quote with drop shadow.

Hi everyone! I've quickly whipped up a freebie for you guys, based on how many downloads each of my previous freebies has gotten, my wordart "Key To My Heart" has been the most downloaded. A Girls Best Friend (& A Freebie!)

Hi! I feel like I haven’t been on here in ages. As you guys might know I’ve been a bit unwell, and have been “banned” from the computer for a bit. [UPDATE – turns out that my “muscle strain” is actually a virus that has taken a fair bit out of me. If I’m not better by Tuesday I have to go to doctors for blood test to see if its something else =( ] But the good news is – my best friend to computer is not to blame! But I can only sit up for about an hour before I get exhausted and have to lay down, SO, I’m still not able to sit at the computer for long periods of time.

Too Much Time On The Computer? (& a Freebie)

Hi everyone, hoping all is well with each and every one of you. I on the other hand am not so well today =( Over the weekend I started getting pains across my shoulders. I went to work yesterday and I started getting a stiff neck, as the day went on it got worse and worse. Last night when I got home it was like my neck was locked in place. So I went to the doctors this morning to see what was happening and she did all the usual tests and said that it was muscle strain from being at a computer practically 24 hours a day. So, I’m suppose to say in bed and rest, do a few muscle exercises, put Voltaren on it and take Nurofen. And for those of you who know me, knows that is no easy task. I don’t do “rest”. But she said if I didn’t, it was just going to get worse. So, to sustain any creative cravings I might have over the next 24-48 hours, I made up some quick glitter hearts to share with you guys.

Now, I’m going to bed and am going to watch as many hours of The Simpsons as humanly possible. Hopefully the muscles in my neck will see my effort and will give me a break ;)

I've Had My Hair Cut & I Feel Like A Million Dollars! (& a Freebie)

Hey everyone, Happy Friday!

Firstly I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who’s downloaded my first few freebies and thank you so much for all your lovely comments. As I’ve only been using Photoshop for about 6 days – and doing digital scrapbooking for about 10 days – so its really great to hear all the positive feedback – so thank you.

Over the next few weeks I will giving plenty more away so don’t forget to keep coming back and keeping an eye out. I’ve done two papers, a wordart and tonight my first embellishment, so to make it even I’ll give away one or two of every type of material needed to make a scrapbook page, then when I’ve mastered them I will do my first ever pack (which of course will be here as a freebie download).

Sometimes The Photo Says It All...

Hi everyone! I'll make this post a quick one - I'm sitting at the computer showing my technology-challenged father (he laughs at this) how to add to my blog. (Now my mum is here, helping me to spell this correctly - see Graphic Jam Designs is a family affair!)

I made this a simple layout because I like the photo so much I didn't want to take away from it. It's me and my big brother Christian when we were lil. =)

The Kindness of Strangers

Don't you just love those days where people surprise you with kindness? It didn't directly happen to me, but it did happen to a friend, and she told me and now it's inspired me (gotta love the chain effect). At about 3.30pm this afternoon in Sydney, we had a sudden storm which seemed to come out of nowhere. A girl from work was coming back from a meeting, and of course, as it didn't look like rain when she left the office, she didn't take her umbrella. On the way back, as luck would have it, it was pouring. But a man on the street shared his umbrella with her. She said he was a lovely man who chatted and was just a gentlemen. She walked back into the office and the first question I asked "Oh no, you got caught in the rain!" and she had this big grin on her face and said "No, I meet someone who shared this umbrella with me!" Now how nice is that! Especially in the city these days where it seems people are only getting more and more rude, its good to know that the good people still exist. The morale of the story: Don't lose faith in humanity yet. ;)

So It Begins...

Hi everyone,
It's great to finally be online. This is my very first blog. I'm hoping now that I've started it that interesting (and good!) things will begin to happen in my life so I actually have something to write about!

Firstly a little about me. My name is Yasmin (Yaz to my friends). This site was started as a way to *express my creativity* through the internet (pretty much because I've exhausted every other outlet). ;)

I work in as a legal secretary in a law firm in the City (and I can tell you, its quite hard to be creative there!) So when I come home, instead of taking a break from staring at a computer screen, I jump on my lap top and start playing with my fav programs.

Over the next few weeks and months, I hope to start posting some Digital Scrapbooking freebies as well as Photoshop tools for you guys to experiment with. I know when I was starting out (and I won't lie - even now) I love searching for unique freebies, so I hope I will become a favourite for cool freebies in the future.

Anyway, lovely chatting with you (ie talking to myself, hoping that someone is reading this so I don't feel like a complete nutter!) and I will *talk* to you again soon! =)
